Update regarding monthly Lunch & Learns and chapter events

Monday, April 13, 2020 7:43 PM | Bryan Staffel (Administrator)

I hope this email finds you doing well and staying safe. We wanted to provide you with an update regarding our monthly Lunch & Learns and upcoming events for the North Texas Chapter of IIBEC. Due to the abrupt changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to go back to the drawing board for the education opportunities previously planned for the spring and summer of 2020. Given the current restrictions, similar to last month, we are canceling the April Lunch & Learn that was originally scheduled for April 27 at The Ranch. We encourage you to still use this time to earn a continuing education credit as there are many online opportunities available in the industry right now.

One such resource is the AECDaily website which offers several free and “on-demand” webinar options. Click Here for a full list of relevant courses.

Based on some recent polling results, several of our members expressed interest in education topics regarding roofing and technologies/innovation. One course of note within AECDaily related to these topics would be Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic Systems: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly which is good for one AIA LU/HSW, 1GBCI/LEED, or 1 IIBEC CEH. Click the title to learn more.

In addition, we are also postponing our annual Top Golf event (usually scheduled for May) until further notice. While we hope to offer this popular networking event later in the year, we are working diligently to finalize an alternate web-based meeting for May that will offer education credit opportunities, as well as a fun hands-on opportunity from the comfort and safety of your own home!  More information to come!

Headed into the summer, we will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our events accordingly. On behalf of myself and the entire NTC IIBEC Board, we wish the best for you and your families during these trying times, and we look forward to the day when we can all gather safely together again

Sincerely,

Amy Aubuchon

2020 President - NTC IIBEC
