Evolution of Standing Seam Roofing

This course follows trends in roof panel design, materials, manufacturing methods, testing and overall performance over the past 30 years. This course will touch on the different roof system types that evolved over the years, their strengths, weaknesses and where the industry is heading. 

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the various metals and finishes used in standing seam roofing systems.
• Increase understanding of the types of systems and manufacturing differences of various standing seam panels. 
• Overview of Testing and industry trends.

Speaker: Rick Brill - Kovacs Group

Speaker Bio: Rick Brill began in the construction industry in 1992 by way of entering the US Air Force as a member of CES and eventually USAF Red Horse squadron. With primary focus on ground up construction of Metal buildings and Aircraft Hangers throughout South Korea and Japan.

After being honorably discharged in 1997 Rick entered Commercial construction as a Superintendent with focus on Ground up Retail and Grocery store renovation and new construction. In 2002 Rick joined Warwick Construction as Construction Superintendent remaining focused on commercial ground up and large retail development.

In 2008 Rick joined The Kovacs Group with a focus on Architectural Metal roofing, liquid roofing / waterproofing, and fluid applied acrylic air barrier systems.
