Understanding the UL Fire Resistant Directory 101

That bright orange book on your shelf has a lot of great fire-resistant information and is easy to use! Learn how to master the Fire Resistance Directory and use this resource in an effective and efficient way. We will take a basic look at this book and then drill down to examine fire rated designs and assemblies.

Learning Objectives:

As a participant, you will have a clear understanding of the Underwriters Laboratories Fire Resistant Directory, learn about the three types of fire-resistant gypsum wallboard, analyze gypsum wallboard fire-rated designs, and determine the most effective gypsum UL Design for your project.

Speaker: Frank Fuller, FCSI Construction Design Manager Southwest, National Gypsum

Speaker Bio: Frank Fuller is one of the few Dallas natives and a proud Texan. After spending many years in restaurant management Frank plunged headlong into residential and commercial construction products in 1980. In 1994 Frank became an Architectural Representative in the TX, OK and AR markets. Frank’s experiences as an Architectural Rep. range from Architectural Coatings, Weather Barriers for the Building Envelope and now High-Performance Gypsum with the National Gypsum Company. He is the Southwest Construction Design Manager for NGC. Frank has been a member of the Construction Specifications Institute since 1995; He has served as a leader on the Chapter, Region and Institute levels. He is a Fellow in CSI and continues to strive to be a Trusted Advisor to the Architectural and Design Community.
