Acrylic v. Silicone: Understanding the differences between two
common cool roof coating technologies

This course compares the features and benefits of acrylic and silicone cool roof coating systems in order to help specifiers and consultants understand and determine best practices for both technologies.

    silicone cool roof coatings.

Speaker: Patrick Thornton, LEED AP-Texas Regional Sales Representative for Metacrylics Energy Efficient Coatings

Speaker Bio: Patrick Thornton, LEED AP has been in building products sales since 1989 having started his career with General Electric.  The majority of his career has been spent in coatings having worked for Duron Paints and Wallcoverings (Sherwin-Williams), ICI Paints (Glidden) and PPG.  During his years of service with PPG he was involved on both the company store side as well as the dealer side of the Architectural Coatings business and even spent time in the Glass business having served as National Architectural Manager.  He has significant experience with all types of coatings and applications and is a NACE Certified Coatings Inspector, Level 2 (#42797).  He recently moved back to Texas to join Metacrylics having spent the last 25 years covering the SE United States living in the Charleston, SC area.  Patrick grew up in west Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University.  He attended graduate school at the University of Texas at Dallas.
