How Roof and Wall Penetrations are affected by ICC 2014 & 2015 Code & Standards

Speaker: Steve Mechler, President, Mechler & Associates

Speaker Bio: Mr. Mechler founded Mechler & Associates in 1982. Since then they have grown into a regional firm representing a plethora of companies spanning many industries. Steve grew up on a farm in South Texas and went on to graduate with honors from Southwest Texas State University. In his spare time Steve enjoys spending time with his 11 grand children and fishing at the Texas gulf coast.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. History of roof and wall penetrations for electrical and mechanical systems and how they do or do not meet codes and standards. 

  2. Codes which affect Roof & Wall penetrations in the building envelope, excluding door and window openings. 

  3. Regulations to meet ICC 2014-500 for storm shelter applications for tornado and hurricane construction. 

  4. Regulations to meet 2015 IECC air permanence, insulation and solar reflectance.

This event qualifies for 1 AIA and/or 1 RCI CEH.
